Loading Airportitlwm-kext leading to BIOS Reset - Dell Studio 1569 (Mojave 10.14.1)
Thanks @win1010525 for the winderful efforts have put into this project to work intel wireless cards on hackintoshes. I have tried both itlwm and Airport version of the kexts caused me to force reset the BIOS. if not my mobo (Dell Studio 1569) never turns on. Please look into this issue. Thank you guys
Are you using Opencore?
Clover (version 48**)
Does it happen if you dont load this?
without it works fine. I tried loading itlwm + heliport and AirportItlwm + native airport both are same results.
Hi dude, Any possible solutions??
It reset the whole BIOS? Including all settings like Controller Mode?
I have no idea how this took place.
yah, No POST screen after restarting and I had to reset the bios by pulling off battery plug and waited for 5 mins and then got POST screen. I think something happen when macOS trying to unload the kext while shutting down
So we can troubleshoot now. 1.Use itlwm+heliport 2.After it successfully loaded. Unload the kext by using sudo kextunload 3.Reboot your computer.
thanks. i'll try and let you know.
Hi, I did as you told but this time my mobo restarts when I unloading the kexts and had no POST issues
Kernel crashed, needs log.
I need the kernel log, not the itlwm log.
ok i'll provide later today
Hi, I tried again loading and unloading AirportItlwm using terminal but this time had POST issue. so I'm aware that,
- Loading and unloading AirportItlwm.kext via terminal crashes Kernel and breaks the BIOS.
- Loading and unloading IO80211Family.kext having AirtportItlwm as a plugin crashes only kernel and restarts.
this is the kernel log I got using this command log show --predicate "processID == 0" --start $(date "+%Y-%m-%d") --debug
