Incorrect scanned 1D-Codes

I'm using this plugin to scan some (mostly) EAN13-Codes on an iPhone 5s (iOS 8.1), which is technically working fine, but I'm getting a lot of wrong numbers. E.g. the scan of the barcode of 4006053155748 sometimes gets returned as the correct number or as 4016053145748, which has 2 wrong digits. Sometimes it's not even identified as EAN13 but as UPC-A. Isn't here any check digit process in the plugin? As far as I know EAN-Codes offer this possibility...
