Why give up on git tags?
This is just a comment, feel free to close. We were git tagging for each released version, up until v0.7.0. I'm wondering why this was abandoned? It's convenient to be able to do git things with the exact commit that was released, without having to get too sleuthy.
My thinking was "why am I doing this? It's never come in handy in the past and it takes extra time. Meh."
Alternatively you can search through the commits for "Increments version to [0-9.]+" to get all of the version updates.
I'd be down for resuming tagging if a compelling use-case is provided that makes the work worth it.
im ok with tagging. hell ill do the work if needed.
