Status of Solara

Hi,

Just wondering what is the status of solara? Is it being actively developed? Can we expect v2 or v3 in the relatively near future, or other bugfixes and incremental improvements?

Asking since its been quiet in here, discord also. Also asking for the future of the project for e.g. if i decide to start building something semi-serious, should I just do it ir maybe find another approach (framework, language etc..).

I've been using solara a lot over the past 18 months or so, and i think it has so much potential, and i have some ideas about it.

Anyway I'm just hoping the project will continue!

Hi,

We are using Solara for an application ourselves, so we are using this heavily in production. I hope that gives some confidence. However, that means there is (currently) not a lot of time for new development. I'll share more when I can.

For what it's worth, I've found that I can use uvicorn==0.35.0 with Solara. :)

@maartenbreddels could you give a honest update about a realistic commitment to Solara maintenance?

Unmaintained or archived is also an answer, open source is hard, we know. But it would help to make choices about future development if we know where we stand exactly.

I think I've been pretty clear in https://github.com/widgetti/solara/issues/1097#issuecomment-3334880529 And the uvicorn issue is fixed and released already (and I'm just about to take a look at 3.14 support :))
