A man with a cane needs a reason to go for a walk

Open restlessdesign opened this issue 9 years ago • 5 comments

Up-and-deciding that one would go for a walk for while simultaneously requiring the services of a cane seems a little odd.

What’s the driving force that is sending him outside? Is it a task so great that he is willing to bear the pain? Why is this important? Is Bill happy to be doing this?

(1) Old people go for walks all the time. (2) Isn't moving good for health? (3) No and Yes. In one branch of the universe Bill is happy. While in another he is not. Maybe Bill is even dead in another branch but doesn't they know it! :D

maybe he's an old nazi and feels he's being hunted...

Nobody said he was old. He could be an amputee. Maybe he has gangrene and is walking out the door to his amputation surgery!

And maybe he's just all of us reincarnated and just got sick of being at his computer all day in the dark. All those maybes...

Cane sugar packets. A small token for any number of people or creatures he might expect to find on the way. Possibly a good prelude for a Fantasy novel (A tax for the trolls?). Or something more realistic: for an admired friend who always complains about bitter coffee. He symbolically adds the sweetener to his/her life.
