c-d c-w does not mark current word

It makes sense that jump actions ignore the target at the cursor, but for deletion it should not be ignored.

but C-c SPACE w'  is shorter and more convenient to use than c-d c-w t m'.

C-c SPACE w has slightly different semantics. It will modify the content of the clipboard. I agree that it can be a workaround in some(perhaps most) situations, while this issue is still valid.
