New 2019 NL data from source cbsnl available

Open emacgillavry opened this issue 4 years ago • 4 comments

GPKG is available in ZIP from https://www.cbs.nl/nl-nl/dossier/nederland-regionaal/geografische-data/wijk-en-buurtkaart-2019. Suggested mapping to WOF-hierarchy:

  • buurten ~ neighbourhoods
  • wijken ~ macrohoods
  • gemeenten ~ localadmin

Thanks @emacgillavry - do you know if the newest 2019 dataset is much of a change from the previous releases? We previously imported the cbsnl data into WOF, I'm wondering if it would be helpful to track updating the admin records with the newest geometries.

Hi @stepps00. It's the first time there were no changes in the municipalities since 2008! There are about 10 each year. Also, municipalities can change the districts (wijken) and neighbourhoods (buurten) yearly. E.g. Amsterdam has seen significant changes between 2015 and 2016.

We'd certainly like to help out ingesting the new data. Is a mentorship something you'd consider?

Two days ago, CBS have already released a 2020 version! Almost 15 municipalities (localadmin) changed the boundaries of the neighbourhoods (buurten) since last year. https://www.cbs.nl/nl-nl/dossier/nederland-regionaal/geografische-data/wijk-en-buurtkaart-2020

Thanks @emacgillavry - I've opened an issue in the main whosonfirst-data repository to track updates to admin records. Once complete, we can use this issue to update the source, if necessary.
