MicroG in Insular work profile not working

I tried installing MicroG apks and FakeGapps in my work profile, but it fails the spoof check every time. Does MicroG need to be flashed as a system app for this solution to work?

You can install microG apps as regular apps inside the work profile, but the FakeGApps module must be installed inside the main profile (otherwise it's not possible to select "System Framework" as a target for the module in the LSPosed manager, and that target seems to be required for spoofing signatures). Tested on LOS 18.1 and Shelter.
