What do recommend to record and design?

Hey, I was just wondering what you recommend for screen casting videos. I saw that you use screenflow, but I'm not sure if its worth the investment. Do you have any thoughts on a cheaper alternative? In addition, how does using sketch help you with your overall design process, I usually just start coding and see what works from there.
