Keeps zooming IN while I move the map around

So I want to pin myself in New York. Being in Brussels I have to zoom out, then move the map to New-York. Should be easy...

But everytime I start moving the map, it zooms in to the max... then I have to zoom out again, and once I move the map it zooms in to the max... then I have to zoom out again, etc etc...
