Reduce memory usage
I'm using Windows XP and sometimes I run out of memory.
This is a web browser from 2023 on a 2001 OS. You should be thankful that it even works.

how much RAM do you have ?
32bitOS, memory is 4GB
I noticed an interesting thing, on XP x64 memory consumption is much less, on a netbook with 1GB of memory you can work quite comfortably, with 2-3 tabs.

4GB (not 3.25) is plenty of RAM.
you should be able to open at least 20 tabs at a time.
the ''Arctic Foxie'' 360 chrome is much less memory hungry so I would recommend you that browser if you need to have 50 active tabs

Actually, this wasn't a good reply. The truth is, Chromium-based browsers will use much more memory if any Visual C++ 2015-20xx redistributable packages are installed. (My guess is, they have a less memory intensive version of the runtime bundled with the executable) Check if you have any, uninstall it and you will see the reduced memory consumption. I have 4 GB RAM (with PAE Patch) and it's more than enough for it.
I must also point out the increased memory usage after 8x versions. Even without VS packages, Minibrowser (based on 87) would use less memory than xpchrome.
Since Chromium 110, there is a Memory Saver feature you can use to do just this. Go to settings and turn it on. Here's more info.
