It'd be nice to nuke the -fnewtime15 flag in the .cabal file one day. Today is not that day.

(Realistically I doubt we want to pull the trigger on this until at least GHC 8.4, since there's currently little reason now or in the future to abandon GHC 7.8.x support.)

Fwiw, if you just want to get rid of the flag, you can exile the flag via something like https://hackage.haskell.org/package/time-locale-compat :-)

I'd rather not increase the dependency footprint any more than absolutely necessary. This is more of a reminder than "It's really bugging me". :)

@thoughtpolice Oh I see... then I guess there should also be an "It's really bugging me"-reminder-ticket for actually releasing this to Hackage... so packages on Hackage can actually start using CBOR, no? .... I'll show myself out.... :-)
