I had the same issue today. However, I found that the issue resolved itself if I ran the Docker run command about five times. I don't know why this worked, but I deleted the Docker image afterwards and did the same again, and the solution worked a second time.

I ran into the same issue and just ran the same run again.

So I did the install from ambari with default port 8080, localhost:8080 didn't come up even after 5-10 minutes so I thought something was wrong. It said it 'started ambari' so it should have been up.

Anyways, I just ran ./run.sh without options and it didn't rebuild everything, was very quick, and started ambari correctly. localhost:8080 worked immediately.

Then, I accessed to one of them docker exec -it 2ddb197bd493 bash

and executed the command to start the ambari server into the docker bash:

ambari-server start

(Is the last command of the run.sh script) and have the next log:

About to start PostgreSQL Organizing resource files at /var/lib/ambari-server/resources... and the server is accesible in localhost:8080!
