Add ability to backup/restore amiibo bin files on Citra MMJ UI [Amiibo Button] in Settings [Android].
Citra MMJ is a great Nintendo 3DS emulator fork for optimize performance on Android. One feature that would make it even better is the ability to easily backup and restore amiibo bin files.
☝️☝️☝️
Having an option like this on the Emulator would be very handy and user friendly for users to manage Amiibo's on Citra MMJ to unlock game content and other extra data goodies when testing games.
It would be great if there was a section in the settings where users could:
-
View all installed amiibo bins
-
Backup individual or all amiibo bins to internal storage or SD card (Emulated storage).
-
Restore amiibo bins from backup
This would allow users to safely backup their amiibo data so it is not lost if they uninstall the app or switch devices.
The flow could work something like:
- In Citra settings, go to the "Amiibo" section
- Tap "Backup Amiibo"
- Select individual amiibos or "Select All"
- Choose a backup location like internal storage or SD card
- Amiibo bins are exported to the selected location
To restore, users could:
- Go to Amiibo settings
- Tap "Restore Amiibo"
- Navigate to the folder where backups are stored
- Select the bins to restore
- The amiibo bins are imported back into Citra
Who would benefit
This would provide a seamless way for users to preserve their amiibo data between devices and installs on Citra MMJ on Android. I do hope you would consider adding this capability in a future release!
Let me know if any part of this needs clarification.
Thank you kindly for your time 🙏
I don't think anybody needs such feature. The Amiibo can still be used in games, and the file transferring can be done using a file manager.
Still Weihuoya can't add such features. He/She can only Optimize the Emulator
@Tappy-tech I am currently trying to use amiibo on the latest version. I have the bins, and I've tried using them decrypted. How do you use them in game?
I go to the Amiibo menu option and its just a blank screen
Even if I could just use the NFC reader on my phone, that would be acceptable
