Superadmin can't reset his password

You have here condition about superadmin profile updating.

// Don't let non-superadmin edit superadmin
if ( isset($this->oldAttributes['superadmin']) && !Yii::$app->user->isSuperadmin && $this->oldAttributes['superadmin'] == 1 )
{
    return false;
}

Thats why superadmin can't reset his password through default form user-management/auth/password-recovery
