Hi, I followed the Instant Wordpress FAQ and used the sudo apk update and sudo apk upgrade commands but it failed to complete the tasks. This is the result:

I tried googling for similar issues and solutions and it appears to have something to do with the repositories.

Thanks in advance for any insight into these issues.

Edit /etc/apk/repositories and change the old repositories as:

#/media/cdrom/apks
http://dl-3.alpinelinux.org/alpine/latest-stable/main
http://dl-3.alpinelinux.org/alpine/latest-stable/community

Then upgrade the os and packages to the latest stable versions: sudo apk update sudo apk upgrade

Then restart the InstantWP.

As extra, you can install missing imagick and fileinfo modules for wp: sudo apk add php7-imagick php7-fileinfo sudo service apache2 restart

After doing this update I cannot connect to WP Admin or the database MySQL Admin. Yes - I rebooted as instructed. The Buttons to Themes and Plugins work.

WP Admin error Warning: mysqli_real_connect(): (HY000/2002): No such file or directory in /var/www/localhost/htdocs/wordpress/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1653 No such file or directory

Error establishing a database connection MySQL #2002 - No such file or directory — The server is not responding (or the local server's socket is not correctly configured).

I have no idea how to troubleshoot this.

@Buratini , I got the same result as @tsnyder2399 -- from what you have provided, I cannot make sense of what I am supposed to do next with that. Can you further explain what to do with that? Or otherwise link me to instructions?

I tried to follow mburakkalkan's very detailed guide, but something is still wrong. I opened SFTP client from the InstantWP control panel and logged in as here: APK update 1 When I click login, however, there are no files: APK update 2 I am trying to run InstantWP from a USB stick. Any suggestions?

Hi What is the upgrade difference between 5.3.5 & 5.3.6 and how would I upgrade without losing my files and plugins ? or should I upgrade , will it make a difference ?

It's very slow to load up when I click the wordress admin button , how do I speed it up to get to the login page ?

I'm also having issues with updating my php from 7.1.10 to the latest version

I would really appreciate the help

Thank You

Joel
