Any guide or Wiki?
I just downloaded this app, and installed Developer Mode app on my TV, as well as turned on Dev Mode and Key Server. But how do I get the SSH password or generate a key? I open up the Device Manager on Windows and I cannot add my device, any advice for a newbie?
Hi. When the key server is on, you can fill "IP Address (wired/wireless)" on your TV into "Host Address", and "Passphrase" on your TV into "Passphrase". Then after you press "Add" it should work.
And how to paste into the terminal window from the clipboard? (Windows 10, webos-dev-manager.1.5.2)
~~can you explain how any of this "Developer Mode app on my TV, as well as turned on Dev Mode and Key Server" is done? maybe just add a link to an external how to page?~~
/edit sorry. i just had to type in a wrong password for the link to show up: https://webostv.developer.lge.com/develop/app-test/using-devmode-app/
/edit: small hint for all newbies: I had to restart the TV again and re-enable the key server in the developer app. only after that a connection from this app to the TV was possible. the passphrase is shown on the TV when the developer app is opened. the list of successfully installed TV apps did not update in the manager, but the apps are shown (and are working) on the tv.
great work (y)
I installed developer mode and used the "Device Manager for WebOS" to install the homebrew channel.
I tied using piccap but it seems it does not have root access. - Same is indicated in the Homebrew channel settings
What am i missing here? Is there a step i skipped?
@krasatos dev-manager-desktop Doesn't help you to root. You'll still need rootmy.tv to root your TV. Although it might get patched, while we're developing new exploit right now.
Now with newer device setup wizard I'll close this issue as it's a lot easier to setup a device now.
