System.property org.apache.struts.tiles.DEFINITIONS_FACTORY holds HUGE value

What is the purpose of this property?

In one of our servers, it holds roughly 228 MB after running a week.

It seems to me it is repeating the same values over and over, some sort of JSON lookalike, probably serialized data.

My problem, I guess, is the memory consumption.
