Problem type: Something else Description: Names containing non-ASCII characters like "Șor" do not display properly (macOS). The page displays correctly on Safari and Chrome. Steps to Reproduce: Names containing non-ASCII characters like "Șor" do not display properly. This happens consistently throughout the FT site, the linked page is just one example.

Strange, I've reset the browser and disabled all extensions but the problem still persists for me on Firefox 132.0b9 on macOS Sequoia. (And it's been there for me for ages now, so including many previous versions of both macOS and Firefox.) I can "fix" the problem by setting browser.display.use_document_fonts to 0, but that's obviously not a solution.
We appreciate your report. Unfortunately, it requires a subscription in order to view the article.
Suggestions: • Clear cache/data/cookies, disable Ad-blocker & other add-ons (if available), or use a clean profile and check again • If there are any changes made to the default settings of the browser (e.g. in about:config), please revert to the default settings
How to create a new profile:
- Open a new tab and type in the address bar "about:profiles".
- Click "Create a New Profile".
- Click "Continue", name your profile and then Click "Done".
- Head to your newly created profile and click "Launch profile in new browser".
Note: You can return to your old profile at any given time by accessing "about:profiles" in the address bar
