Massive performance drop when 'H' stats are enabled

Describe the bug In case we enable the stats by pressing 'H' this webgl warning appears and there is a massive performance drop from 60 fps to 6 fps. It gets worse with time. Just as we close the stats the performance is good again.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to street.scn
  2. run around and wait till the warning appears
  3. The performance drops massively

Expected behavior Stats should not affect the performance.
