Physical RAM on super fast SSD

I can remember Sandisk/WD DC-ME200 using a bare metal hypervisor to implement physical RAM extensions on super fast SSD.

The software has called WMEM.

I would like to revisit this concept using a custom open source Hypervisor with custom memory management.
