Screen brightness control on the Touch Bar does not affect external displays' brightness

Open adib opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

Despite enabling Accessibility access to BetterDisplay and enabling the relevant parameters in BetterDisplay, changing the brightness from the touch bar only affects the MacBook's internal display brightness. The external displays' brightness are not affected.

The desired behavior is to have the brightness of all three displays synchronized to the same perceptual level, as according to either True Tone or manual brightness adjustments.

Configuration

  • Monitors: LG 27UL600W, two monitors, connected via DisplayPort via WavLink WL-UTD21H Thunderbolt 3 dock.
  • MacBookPro16,2 (13", Intel, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports).
  • macOS Ventura 13.4

Hi there @adib - this is a planned feature: https://github.com/waydabber/BetterDisplay/issues/1356

I leave it this feature request here as well for the time being (even though it might be considered a duplicate), will deal with all sync features with one swoop in v2.x

This is still not implemented as of v2.2.0.

Indeed. I am pushing implementing syncing off continuously as I want to intertwine it with general display group management which involves layouts and presets as well. So this is one huge, very complex thing to do. After I finish CLI stuff I think I'll start working on all these. So it's not forgotten. :)

This is redundant with #1356
