Feature description

Context

Waveterm offers the possibility to add file viewer blocks, but it lacks essential file management options in the context menu when selecting a file or folder.

Requested Features

  • Rename files and folders.
  • Delete files and folders.
  • Cut, copy, and paste files and folders.
  • Copy or move files and folders. between different blocks.
  • Open files with specific programs allowing users to choose their preferred applications (e.g., other IDEs).
  • Integrate 7-Zip for extracting archives , if the user has 7-Zip installed.

Impact

These features would significantly enhance user experience by making file management more intuitive and efficient. With these additions, Waveterm could also serve as a complete alternative to a traditional file explorer (for example, similar to Krusader).

great suggestions. definitely want to improve the functionality of the built in directory preview.

as we work on different parts of this, i might break up the issue into smaller issues.

Waveterm is on track to become the go-to terminal, the best of the best! With its innovative features and flexibility, it’s really meeting the needs of modern developers. Keep up the great work—your efforts are truly making a difference! WR cosmo

@sawka I came here to suggest similar, making additional customisation options for the right click context menu. Maybe using "view": "folder", that could pipe the filename to new command windows
