[Feature]: App-wide light mode UI in new Wave (successor to WaveLegacy light theme?)
Feature description
What I expected
- A Theme selector (e.g., Light / Dark / System) that affects the entire application UI, similar to what’s described in the WaveLegacy 0.7.2 release notes.
- When macOS is in Light mode (or when “Light” is selected in Wave), the whole UI—including sidebars, browser, and top bar—would be light, not only the terminal content.
Why this matters
- Dark UI causes eye strain for me over longer sessions.
- A light mode UI is important for accessibility and comfort, not just a cosmetic preference.
- The current situation makes it hard for me to use Wave as my main terminal, even though I otherwise really like it.

Anything else?
I'm curious do you already have this plan(in roadmap) or someone is working on the feature now? Or I'd also like to try myself and submit PR in the future.
Or do you have any suggestions on this feature? Do you suggest me to use WaveLegacy if I currently have to use light UI app?
I fully echo this request — I also need a true light-mode UI for accessibility and comfort.
Even after customizing both termthemes.json and presets.json, it's currently impossible to achieve a truly white or light UI in Wave Terminal on Windows. All light colors (even pure #ffffff) are rendered as foggy gray, as if a dark layer is permanently blended underneath. It feels like the entire UI is composited over a dark theme, regardless of terminal or tab theme settings.
This is making it difficult to use Wave for long sessions. I’ve tested with full opacity, disabled transparency, disabled blur, and even hardware acceleration off, but the result is always the same: light colors are muted and distorted.
Would love to know if full light-mode UI support is planned, or if contributions in this direction are welcome. Until then, is WaveLegacy still the best option for users who require a true light UI?
