[Feature]: Show Timestamps on each output

Open Scotchester opened this issue 1 year ago • 0 comments

Feature description

As a former iTerm2 user, I really appreciated its "Show Timestamps" feature, which puts an overlay on the terminal indicating the time each output was written. (Or, as their Menu Items docs put it, "Indicate the time of last modification of each line on the screen.")

This is not the best screenshot due to the cropping, but it was the best one I could quickly find:

Crop of the right side of an iTerm2 window with timestamp indicators appearing down the right side and orange arrows overlaid to point to them

This can be very helpful when you have a long-running script that is occasionally outputting and you want to try to confirm how long a stage has taken, or what time of night it inevitably failed due to your VPN dropping or something.
