  • Wavebox Version: 3.14.6
  • Operating System & Version: Arch Linux

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. My university provides web mail through Outlook Web App (OWA) on their servers. Even though Outlook is well integrated in Wavebox, the only option for me to use it is by creating a custom website account.

Is your feature request related to an account type? Outlook

Describe the solution you'd like An option to provide a custom OWA path.

Have you tried adding your email as an Office 365 account? It should pick out the correct URLs when using this

Didn't work. When I add an Office 365 account with my university email address, I get forwarded to https://wavebox.io/account/register/failure?error=user_denied which says "Page not found". Same if I try it with Outlook account.

We do have Office 365 accounts from the university (and login works from the browser), but they're independent of the mail accounts, which are hosted on the university's server.

Okay, thanks for trying that.

I'm guessing that the mail isn't actually provided by Outlook then, but rather something else. Have you tried adding it as an Any Weblink account? This would let you just enter the login url and get going. It would only have basic support for notifications and badges but would get you going.

Also, version 4 was released yesterday which would allow you to add the other outlook service (e.g. calendar, onedrive) etc to the weblink so you have access to the other services that the university provides.

"Any Weblink" is what I'm currently using for the OWA webmail but yea, it's not as convenient as the integrated services, i.e. no background notifications when the tab is sleeping, no automatic login (when I set persistent cookies it often just shows a blank page on restart until I clear cookies, restart again and login manually).

I just thought if the hosted Outlook Web App works the same way as the official one and if it has the same APIs (not sure), it might be easy to implement a generic integrated service for hosted Outlook instances :)

Whenever I find the time I'll try getting into the code and trying out a few things and report back, however what do you think about such a feature?

If we can support the hosted version then this would be an excellent addition! I'm not 100% sure what the API looks like across to these, and I suspect it depends on what the sysadmin as configured. I'll have a look to see if I can do a bit more investigation into these too

I would also be interested in a OWA integration 👍

I also don't get redirected to company install, have to use weblink. Also in outlook the preview of pdfs for instance doesn't work.

Thank you Thomas for this huge work on wavebox, probably one of the best app of its kind. Security & privacy is the most important concern, especially regarding emails client. Having such a support for exchange (owa) hosted on private servers would be definitely a kick-ass solution and best alternative to third party app. Do you have any feedback on the possibility or not to implement this ?

Hey there, are there any updates on OWA compatibility? It'd be sooo helpful, as Wavebox is a great way of streamlining all of The Apps.
