[Feature Request] Enhanced Bookmarks Organization
Feature description
Hello, firstly, I'd like to commend the innovative way Wavebox organizes apps and pages. It's refreshing and provides a seamless user experience. However, there's an area I believe could benefit from some of Wavebox's organizational magic - the bookmarks.
Currently, I have an extensive collection of bookmarks, and they are all clustered together. This conglomerate of links somewhat diverges from the intuitive and organized manner in which Wavebox operates. I often find it cumbersome to sift through them and locate the specific bookmark I need.
Would it be possible to introduce a separate bookmarks toolbar or perhaps implement a feature akin to 'cookie containers'? I envision this as different compartments or groups where bookmarks related to a particular category or theme can be stored separately, much like how Wavebox groups related apps and pages.
I appreciate the concept of using folders for groups, but it doesn't quite serve as a solution for bookmarks. It's not feasible for me to relocate the multitude of bookmarks I have in bookmark folders into group folders and still navigate them effortlessly.
The ability to have these isolated bookmark groups would significantly enhance the browser's functionality for users like myself who rely heavily on bookmarks for quick access to various online resources.
Thank you for considering this request.
Any suggestions?
Warm regards
Hi, thanks for reaching out. There are a couple of things you could already try that might help you with your workflow...
- You could use the bookmarks side panel to access bookmarks. To open this, click on the side panel in the top-right of the Window and then pick bookmarks from the dropdown...
...there is some work going into this to make searching and organizing bookmarks easier, but it's not ready to ship just yet.
- Turn on the bookmarks bar in the main Wavebox window - this is still experimental, but has been working well. To do this, search bookmarks in settings, and enable both of these settings...
Hello @Thomas101,
I'm excited to hear that improvements for searching and organizing bookmarks are already in the pipeline. I still believe that a custom bookmark feature for each 'cookie container' or group would take the user experience to the next level. It would create an even more intuitive and organized browsing environment, which seems to be in line with Wavebox's overarching goals.
Having isolated bookmark groups specific to certain containers or groups would be an incredible asset for users like me, who have a myriad of categorized bookmarks for various needs.
I appreciate your willingness to consider user feedback for continuous improvement. Looking forward to those upcoming features!
