Browser Autoscroll When Dragging
- Wavebox Version: 10.110.12.2 stable, Chromium 110.0.5481.77
- Operating System & Version: macOS Monterey 12.6.3 (21G419)
Issue
When dragging selection vertically the drag autoscroll assistance feature begins to scroll in the direction of the users mouse stroke, however, when using tools such as Wordpress Website Builders requiring the dragging and dropping of modules, the autoscroll feature becomes active and prevents the user from precisely dropping the selection in a specific location on the page. The browser page continuously autoscroll when dragging moving the page while attempting to drop the selection.
How To Replicate
Open a browser window that is longer than your screens vertical resolution forcing a user to scroll to see the entire webpage. Select a image or text and begin dragging up or down to initiate the autoscroll function.
Solution
Decrease autoscroll recognition zone at the top and bottom of the browsers viewport allowing a user to autoscroll only when reaching the near edge of the browsers viewport, allowing a user to start and stop the autoscroll when dragging fail at the desired location.
Hi, thanks for reporting. Do you see the same behaviour in other Chromium-based browsers, like Chrome or Edge when using WordPress Website Builders?
I'm sorry, I never used other Chromium-based browsers for development purposes. They have always been uncomfortably buggy. Firefox or Safari with no plugin or tracking protections enabled is all I've ever found reliable. I will submit a new ticket if I keep experiencing the issue.
Thank you.
