Slack doesn't correctly show unread status

Open NoSync opened this issue 5 years ago • 5 comments

  • Wavebox Version: 10.0.0.54
  • Operating System & Version: Manjaro stable
  • (Linux only) Install method: Arch AUR
  • Account type (if applicable): Slack

Expected & actual behavior The unread activity indicator in both the sidebar and app badge doesn't work as expected: when content is read sometimes it turns off, sometimes it stays stuck until I either quit/reopen Wavebox or reload Slack. Resync also fixes the issue. It doesn't matter whether I have only one workspace enabled, or more than that.

Steps to reproduce It only takes somebody writing on Slack in a channel which is not focused when the notification is received.

Is the bug persistent or intermittent? It's intermittent, but it happens at least 50% of the times.

Screenshots Not necessary.

Additional information Didn't happen with Wavebox 4.

Thanks for reporting. Are you using any kind of VPN/firewall/proxy server? The fact that resync works, but it doesn't pick up the changes normally might indicate that the WebSocket was unable to connect

The app’s behaviour seems to be the same regardless of the network I’m using and whether or not I’m connected to a VPN.

Also, that's quite easy to test, just by visiting https://$workspace.slack.com/help/test

I am green flagged for everything, but the indicators just won't go away.

I should also add that it's always happened to me with Wavebox 10, but it became far more frequent after I added an additional Slack workspace to the group (sharing the same profile).

Update: this doesn't happen when using separate profiles for each Slack account,
