cosmic_ext_bg_theme not working

Whenever I run cosmic-ext-bg-theme, I get a 101 code response, with no other messages and no effect. Not sure if I am doing something wrong, or if COSMIC has moved beyond the current cosmic_ext_bg_theme version's ability to function (i.e., being unable to operate under the current COSMIC version), or a secret third option.
