Improve sharpness of UI Text in Warp on Windows & Linux.

Describe the bug

The sharpness of the text in the UI is absolutely horrible and terrible on the eyes. I have 20/20 vision, no eye sight issues, and I struggle to look at the text with ease.

To reproduce

Changed appearance settings and also deleted and reinstalled Warp.

Expected behavior

The text on the UI, not just in terminal but the UI itself, needs more sharpness. I dunno what the hell is wrong with the app but I have never had an app with such a terrible looking appearance.

Does this block you from using Warp daily?

Yes, this issue prevents me from using Warp daily.

Is this an issue only in Warp?

Yes, I confirmed that this only happens in Warp, not other terminals.

Hi @aloskam88, thanks for your report. There's no need to be rude, though - I expect you wouldn't appreciate someone speaking in the same manner about whatever you work on.

Thin strokes is Mac only, but contrast settings are in Warp on Windows for sure. Also try tweaking the font weight (if others are available) and the font in general, i prefer nerd fonts. I hope that helps!

If you're interested in helping us fix things instead of just being inflammatory, some information that might assist us:

  • What is your monitor resolution?
  • Please share your Warp logs (so we can see information about GPU and rendering backend).

Wasn't being inflammatory, simply providing an honest critique.

My monitor resolution is 2560x1440.

warp should stop telling people not to be rude. it makes you look silly.

I can reproduce this on Linux (Fedora) as well, using monitors with the same resolution as @aloskam88 (2560×1440), using a display scale of 125 % in my system settings. I believe the issue title should be updated to reflect this.

Honestly speaking, the text is really horrible to read, and the difference to other apps on my system is very clear. I don't have this problem with other apps, but the font blurriness in Warp was immediately noticable for me. It's disappointing, as I was genuinely excited to re-test this application now that #1443 is resolved and the UI can be zoomed. However, the fonts appear blurry regardless of the UI zoom level. The text in my system's default terminal (Ptyxis) is more readable than Warp's, even if I zoom Warp's text to be twice the size compared to my system terminal. The blurriness issue in Warp seems to affect all text in the application (menus, temrinal, notebooks, etc.).

I'm using the latest RPM release of Warp (v0.2025.10.22.08.13.stable_02).

Font rendering in Windows is extremely bad in all areas of Warp; wherever you look, some fonts are almost unreadable. This definitely has absolutely nothing to do with graphics drivers or screen resolution, it's simply the technology Warp uses for font rendering. I'm pretty sure once Warp changes to another display technology, fonts will be as crisp and legible as they're in all other apps. This is really the show stopper that prevents me from using Warp...
