Does this block you from using Warp daily?
Yes, this issue prevents me from using Warp daily.
Is this an issue only in Warp?
Yes, I confirmed that this only happens in Warp, not other terminals.

Also on mac - heavy running processes now freeze up the terminal, and even without a running process typing is lagging.
Just typing git commands is really laggy. Seems to be triggered by switching branches. This only started happening ~2 days ago alongside the UI changes. There is a large CPU spike when I'm switching branches, but I wouldn't expect this to degrade performance on an M2 Max.
I've noticed this as well, but it's not consistent for me:
- Dell desktop with Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, Windows 11 24H2 - Lag starts right away even with fresh session.
- HP laptop with Intel Core i5-1135G7, Windows 11 24H2 - No lag.
- Lenovo desktop with 2x Intel Xeon Platinum 8160, Ubuntu 24.04 - No lag.
Weird to me how it's only my newest PC that has the issue, when both it and the laptop has the exact same Windows version, recently clean installed.
I also noticed same. Since last few updates,
- There are lags when opening opening new tabs.
- When running larger scripts(approx: 20 min which prints processing file_paths as output) it got stuck(only ui got stucked backend process continued)
System: mac intel
i love warp, it's my favorite terminal you gotta sign into, but man the recent slowness makes me want to rip my skin off multiple times a day
no reason a terminal should be using up 20gb of ram and be unresponsive for ~a minute whenever I enter a tab
just typing feels slow compared to other terminals, using a Macbook M3 MAX with 64GB of ram. I like some features of warp but everyday usage feels SLOW and I'll probably switch to another terminal
On Windows 11, same issue here, tried switching GPU backend does not help. Tried reducing line history from 100k > 50k> 2k, doesn't help.
Yep, unusable on Windows 11. I have better response using a server on the other side of the world than typing local commands
Still laggy. It isn't very pleasant.
Still the same case on latest update v0.2025.12.03.08.12.stable_05
