Global Hotkey Window "Active Screen" Option Doesn't Work With Multiple Screens
Describe the bug
The "Active Screen" settings option under the Global hotkey window does NOT open the hotkey window in the currently active (focused) window but in the main screen.
Unfortunately, this bug is why I'm avoiding switching to Warp entirely.
To reproduce
Go to settings -> features -> Global hotkey. Choose "Dedicated hotkey window", define a keyboard binding, and set "Active Screen". Focus on a screen other than the main one, and press the hotkey keyboard sequence defined above. The hotkey window still opens on the main screen.
Expected behavior
The hotkey window should be open in the currently active/focused screnn.screen

No, this bug or issue has existed throughout my experience using Warp
Does this block you from using Warp daily?
Yes, this issue prevents me from using Warp daily.
Is this a Warp specific issue? (i.e. does it happen in Terminal, iTerm, Kitty, etc.)
Yes, this I confirmed this only happens in Warp, not other terminals.
Hi @RonAmihai Thanks for letting us know, sorry about this issue being a blocker. I've noticed this tends to happen more often when there are apps on fullscreen on the other displays, then "Active" screen settings seem to default to the Main screen. I'll let the team know and we'll post any updates on this thread.

As @dannyneira mentioned, I'm seeing this issue with fullscreen apps. However:
- If I open the hotkey window on the "active" screen on a non-fullscreen app, hide it, switch spaces to a fullscreen app, then reopen it, it will properly display on top of the fullscreen app. But hiding it and reopening it again will show it on the other screen.
- I'm seeing a similar issue with the "Main screen" setting. After setting this, the hotkey window will display on the main screen, up until I focus a window on the secondary screen, after which it will always display on the secondary screen. This unfortunately doesn't work in reverse.
- Hiding the hotkey window also has the unfortunate tendency of focusing windows and/or spaces, which makes working with fullscreen app even more complicated.
I hope you get a chance to get back to working on global hotkey windows. I've found the iTerm2 implementation to be very reliable. Unfortunately the shortcomings of Warp implementation make them almost unusable.
This got way worse on the last update.
On the last update, I've had the warp window jumping between screens from time to time.
@alexkirsz will this ever be fixed?
I am now using the "Main screen" setting. However, every time I disconnect and reconnect my Macbook from its external monitors, this setting breaks and the hotkey window starts to appear consistently on a different monitor than my main monitor. If I switch the setting to "Active screen" then back to "Main screen", the window now correctly appears on the main screen (up until the next disconnection, when I'll have to do this again).
EDIT: nevermind, it still randomly switches screen after a while.
I am having an issue where I set the hotkey window to "Screen 3". This works consistently until I unplug my laptop from the displays, then upon reconnecting it goes back to the "Main Screen". If I go to Settings -> Features the hotkey window will snap back to "Screen 3" even without force-changing the settings... seems like it should be checking the proper screen each time it reopens, but it only does it when the settings page is open.

Hey folks, as a possible workaround to this issue, You may need to go to Mac > System Settings > Desktop & Dock , then enable "Displays have separate Spaces" and the "Active" screen hotkey settings should work after sleep. Please let us know if that helps with your issue.
I always have this setting enabled, but I still run into this issue.
Going into the Warp settings and simply clicking the "features" tab fixes this issue and moves the hotkey window back to the correct display, until the next time it happens.
Has anyone found a solution to this issue?
Is there any update here? I really like warp, but not being able to use a hot-window is making it hard for me to use.
Any update here?
I tried the workaround of Separate Spaces, but I already had it enabled, therefore its not working for me
I work on three screens. iterm2 can correctly switch the activated screen with the mouse, but warp can't. Can anyone offer help? My warp version is v0.2025.11.19.08.12.stable_06 macos 15.7.2
