How to start Warp using a specific launch configuration?
Discord username (optional)

Describe the solution you'd like?
I want to be able to start Warp using a specific launch profile for the work i am going to perform. A command-line option like `warp --profile <launchprofile>` would be great.
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I'm always frustrated when i have to launch Warp to launch a launch profile and have a leftover window i'm not going to use.

Hi @ToontjeM, Thanks for this feature request!
There is no way to launch a config on the startup, but you can quickly from the Command Palette CMD-P, and enter # to open the Launch Configuration Palette. I hope this helps! https://docs.warp.dev/features/sessions/launch-configurations
Please :+1: this request as it helps us gauge interest. We will post any updates here.
Oh.... I think it's a bit strange to call something a LAUNCH CONFIGURATION without the ability to actually LAUNCH Warp with this CONFIGURATION. So yeah, how do i give a +1 to this request? I was expecting this to be the key function of launch configurations, to be able to launch Warp with a certain configuration. 😳
haha good point, "Launch" is in the name. Will let you know when we working on this, the +1 = 👍
Dropping another +1 for this!
This feature alone is likely going to have me going back to iTerm2 until implemented
Hey Folks, not fully a solution to this request, but a good workaround is that you can open saved Launch Configurations via Raycast Extension.

We'll post updates on this thread if/when we have them regarding this feature integrated into Warp.
It boggles my mind that something as simple and... dare I say fundamental as command options for a "launch" configuration has been stale for a year. If Warp.dev wants to achieve and maintain Linux "market"-share they need to step up in the basics first.
Raycast is commercial software for MacOS. Is there any way to start a Warp session with a launch config in Linux?
Still no word on this? This is a pretty basic modern terminal feature.
Hey folks, no word on this feature yet, but Warp does have a URI Scheme for opening Launch configurations which may be used to accomplish this with a script (this is the same URI scheme that Raycast + Warp extension uses behind the scenes to run Warp with a specific Launch config). https://docs.warp.dev/features/uri-scheme
We'd need more 👍 's on this request to consider integrating that option into Warp's Settings.
A 👍 from me. This is a great app, but it would be greater if I could launch Launch Configurations from a shortcut in Windows. Perhaps associate the config file with Warp Drive so that when you open it with WD it opens that config?
👍🏻 Yeesh. I'm absolutely gobsmacked that this long after launch there STILL AREN'T LAUNCH-SELECTABLE "LAUNCH PROFILES". Seems to me very difficult that I have to subscribe to yet another non-cheap AI+engines+subscription product (Raycast) just to get a functionality iTerm2 has for free (as do most Linux equivalents). On top of that, now Warp want us to beg them to include the URI access in the settings?
Here's a thought: How about providing basics before spending more time jamming AI features into every nook and cranny including dozens where they add nothing of real value?!?!?!
If I were Warp, I'd be more worried about keeping customers satisfied than trying to find neat new ways to monetize AI investments and partnerships. Without the former, you'll find the latter remarkably useless. Very, very disappointed that after this much time, such basic functionality remains unaddressed while the devs spend time chasing "glamour concerns".
Hi folks, no updates on this, but Warp does provide a URI scheme that allows you to programmatically open a launch configuration using a link like warp://launch/<launch_configuration_name>. This can be used in scripts or with integrations such as Raycast or Alfred, and is considered a native solution, though it is not a direct command-line flag. For example, you can run:
warp-terminal warp://launch/my-launch-config
This will open Warp with the specified launch configuration, provided Warp is registered to handle the warp:// URI scheme on your systemWarp URI Scheme Docs.
