Git branch auto updating

Describe the solution you'd like?
If you are in a terminal session and in a directory and sitting there and a branch is changed outside of that directory and you havent sent a new command it shows the old branch in the terminal.
Setup an interval to refresh every 5 seconds is fine I am sure to refresh the branch.
Possibly also allow for more configuration to customize the git section to show maybe if there are updates from the remote or how many files you have changed. I dont know all the features, but many people customize this in their own shell environment, it would be nice to have more control over what is seen for git integration.
