Return HR or watchface to high power mode by pressing light or back button?

I'm not sure if this is up to the watchface or a missing garmin feature:

When my forerunner 645 music switches to low power watchface mode after a few seconds, the heart rate 1 hz update frequency switches to no updates or to updates every 5 sec (according to the chosen mode) as expected.

But pressing the light or back button doesn't 'wake up' the heart rate feature, it stays inactive or at the slower update cycle. Only switching the screen or starting an activity resets the status to the high power mode.

Is this a (maybe even intentional) limitation by garmin, or can this be achieved in the watchface software?

Just realized, that starting to move sets the display to an active mode. So this would be a convenience feature :)
