Clipboard grab won't work (Firefox 109 x64, Win10)

Hello.

First, thanks for your work.

I'm trying to use the reader of your extension that I just installed. The reader won't grad anything from the clipboard. To be sure it's not a collision with another extension, I temporarily disabled all of them but Nazeka : same result, no Japanese is grabbed from the clipboard.

Just a non-related question while I'm at it : is there a possibility to have Nazeka autoselect the translated string like many other extensions I used in the past did ? I can live without, but that would be a nice addition.

Works here, Firefox 110 on Windows 10. Unfortunately troubleshooting this type of issue without having local access to the machine experiencing the issue is really, really hard. Sometimes particular Firefox installs just randomly decide to have weird issues like "oh, I can't look anything up on normal webpages if the reader is open", and then those issues go away after a restart or update, or sometimes they don't and the user is stuck.

If you can't figure out a way to trick Firefox into letting nazeka work properly, you might want to try JL, which has a similar philosophy to nazeka: https://github.com/rampaa/JL/

This is one of the most frequent nazeka feature requests. I tried adding it, but it made certain webpages glitch out, and I couldn't get it to work properly. As a compromise, nazeka displays what it looked up in the top right, with the looked-up text highlighted.

It would also conflict with the feature that limits the lookup context to what you have selected, which is extremely useful for mining, which I find to be a lot more important than the selection thing (which is cosmetic).

(This is how that feature works. Selecting text prevents it from reading outside of the selection, and if I mined from here, it would only have what is displayed in the top right of the popup as a context string.)

Thanks for answering so quickly. You even gave me an alternative if needed, thanks again.

I agree with you : if highlighting conflicts with the contextual research, the later being a useful function should be prioritized.

Have a nice week-end.
