[ENHANCE] Investigate replacing dotdict with SimpleNamespace.

Description of the Enhancement

It could be that dotdict functionality is already provided by SimpleNamespace. Investigate this and perhaps depreciate dot.dict or have it wrap simple namespace.

Justification for the Enhancement

  1. Reduces Complexity: Re-inventing the wheel does not make sense.
