Wrong display in wallabag (uncannymagazine.com)
Before submitting the issue, please read: If wallabag can't parse / extract content for a given link, please first read the documentation about it: http://doc.wallabag.org/en/user/errors_during_fetching.html#how-can-i-help-to-fix-that
We have a lot of requests about fetching config issue. It'll help us A LOT if you give a try to fix it on your own following the doc. If you failed to fix it yourself, tick the following boxes:
- [X ] I've tried myself without success
- [ X] I've replaced
HOSTin the issue title with the host of the URL that can't be fetched (ie:nytimes.com,20minutes.fr,bbc.com, etc.)
Content related:
- URL: [full url of the content]
- wallabag version: 2.6.10
Describe what's wrong: I am using the Firefox extension to save this page to Wallabag.it.
- I click on the extension link.
- It pops open the window where I change the title (or not; this doesn't seem to make a difference) and add tags.
- I click away from the Wallabag.it popup to close it.
- I navigate to my Wallabag.it account and see the message "wallabag can't retrieve contents for this article. Please troubleshoot this issue."
- When I troubleshoot the issue, I learn that the article is fetched but the content is not parsed.
- When I plug the URL in that I tried to save at https://f43.me/feed/test the internal test works but the external test fails with the message "Warning We failed to make this item readable, the default text from the feed item will be displayed instead."
Weird, @cornetth . I had a short look on it, with my self-hosted wallabag I have no problems. Wallabag.it has problems to fetch this article itself. But you can catch it with browser plugin 'wallabagger', go to the settings of this plugin and activate 'Retrieve content from browser'. This also helps for websites, that needs a login.
I will have a deeper look the next days.
Maybe uncannymagazine is blocking IP of wallabag.it
@cornetth I don't know why app.wallabag.it can't load the content, as I am not the server admin. But I believe, that uncanny is blocking the IP of the server.
Self-hosters of wallabag should have no problems with that. I wrote a new site config for them to fetch author and title field.
Users of app.wallabag.it can only use wallabagger browser plugin to fetch articles from uncanny, sorry. Don't forget to activate 'Retrieve content from browser' in the settings of that plugin
