Annotations support
Q | A |
---|---|
App Version | 3.0.4 |
Wallabag server version | 2.3.5 |
Not a feature request. Just wondering if you have interest in implementing it in the future.
I think it's allowed by the API.
Steps to reproduce/test case
When in article views, select a piece of text, then a dialog pops up to offer a highlight option (or even better, to add a note for it).
+1. It would be great to add annotations on mobile devices. I need this feature too.
The Wallabag app is being rewritten. Current majors won't get a fix for this, and it's not yet planned for the 5.0.x versions. We're focusing on polishing the existing features before diving into new ones.
If you want to join the beta, you can follow the Testflight link. Keep in mind the beta still is unstable, and any update can completely break the app (and potentially do some nasty things on your Wallabag instance).
I leave this issue open since it's a nice feature the server supports, and would be nice to have in the app as well.
The API to use for annotations support would be the following:
Hi. Seeing that this issue is still open, I'd like to bring it once more to your attention. I would absolutely love to annotate articles on my ipad, it is currently my main reading device. As an addition, I'd like to also get an overview of all annotations I have made in a particular article, or all annotations in all articles, and I'd like to share them with other apps.
Would be great to indeed be able to make annotations on ios based devices. I tried in the ios-app, which doesn't support it, but neither does the webUI of wallabag. I tried in safari and firefox on my ipad, but neither will show me the annotation popup. Has this something to do with the way apple manages text-selection (overrules possible default webbrowser behavior/triggers), and thus not trigger the annotion-icon-popup? Looking forward seeing this implemented/fixed.
Just chiming in to say that I would also love this feature. Being able to see a list of all the annotations would also be really awesome. It would be ok to me if that was only available in the web version though.
