Month only or Year only view

Describe the solution you'd like Is there a way that can allow user to select only the Months? I looked at the options in doc, but couldn't find any. something like this:

Currently not supported. Perhaps it will be like a plugin later.

Thanks, any plan for that yet? :) I really want to try to do it in a plugin and contribute, but I'm a junior js developer, don't know how long that will take me...
