[FEATURE] Open Explorer in a new window using Win+Shift+E

Open RWeigelt opened this issue 6 months ago • 2 comments

Is this a unique feature?

  • [x] I have checked "open" AND "closed" issues and this is not a duplicate

Proposed Solution

Sometimes I want to open a new Explorer tab, sometimes I want to open a new Explorer window (both when the Explorer window does not have focus). It would be great if I could choose between Win+E and, e.g., Win+Shift+E depending on what I want to do (open just another folder vs. open a second window for side-by-side placement).

Usage: Scenario: I copy a directory path from somewhere, open Explorer and hit Ctrl+L, Ctrl+V, Enter to open the directory.

Do you want to work on this issue?

None

If "yes" to the above, please explain how you would technically implement this

You're right, I think it would be better to keep Win+ E to open a New Window and the Shit+Win+E to open a new tab in the already opened explorer (last one selected) even if it is not focused

...and others (me included) may prefer it the other way around ;-). So a configurable option would probably be the way to go.
