Note: The below was discussed at our monthly meeting (25/10/23) by Zoe, so to avoid the useful feedback getting buried in our minutes doc I'm raising it here (copied in full) so that we can utilize it when we get the opportunity as a roadmapped feature.

High-level insights from LH PM Scale of impact: Are we targeting individual developers, or sites at scale?

• It would be useful to have a primary target for the information
• Developers generally only look at top 3 recommendations (tentative), having a plugin would help highlight without competition

Lighthouse plugin recommended as initial step

• GWF already has a plugin https://github.com/thegreenwebfoundation/lighthouse-plugin-greenhouse
• Custom audits
• Custom category
• Leverage Ecograder + WebsiteCarbon + CO2.js?
  • Focus on guidelines rather than measurement
  • JSON API for WSG
  • Checklist format

Attribution: Could recommendations also identify parts of the architecture that might have the biggest impact for each specific scenario?

• Eg: The CDN for this given website is the biggest contributor to this score
  • ⇒ Research

Business: Connection to analytics could strengthen the narrative

• Does it impact business KPIs? (conversion)

Integrating feedback with the community and next steps

What would the future of tooling look like?

• Volunteers for research/other contributions
