Cleaning of temporary folder

Open MSTUTZMANN opened this issue 9 years ago • 6 comments

Invoking epubcheck whether to do a report or to control an ePub results in unstuffing files in a temporary folder (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Temp on Windows). The data are not erased after control completion. Is it possible to add this feature in future releases.

Which EpubCheck version do you use?

A similar issue has been fixed with PR #608 in EpubCheck 4.0.1

Can you probably upload a demo ePub file?

Which of the files can be found in the temp folder? Images? HTML?

The data we saw in the temp folder after the checking process are images.

I cannot reproduce this on Mac OS X. Temp folder gets cleaned after every run on my system with current EpubCheck 4.0.2

Sidenote: AFAIK we don't unzip the EPUB file. There's only one situation where we write to a temp folder and cleaning this has definately been fixed with #608 as stated above (only applies to checking expanded EPUBs anyways).

To be able to do further investigations, please provide a sample EPUB file and the commandline call you're using to check the EPUB file (e.g. java -jar epubcheck-4.0.1.jar test-file.epub or java -jar epubcheck-4.0.1.jar --mode exp expanded-epub-folder/, etc...) Also check once again that you're really running version 4.0.1 or newer.
