The portion of a DID URL that follows the first hash sign character (#). DID fragment syntax is identical to URI fragment syntax.
In a variety of places we see characters mentioned in passing (in the quoted text it is "hash sign character (#)"). The other links above have / and ?. I18N recommends the use of a specific format for character references. We also recommend using the Unicode name for characters. For example, # would be U+0023 NUMBER SIGN. See here for details.
