Special Case: Quran: Drafting and discuss on how deep to go in the first version
I think it's to some level necessary to cover the special case of Quran, as it's been one of main corners of the development of the script, and many techniques have been developed and maintained for this use case.
But we need to discuss how far we like to go on this topic for the first version of the document.
@mostafah found http://maryamsoft.com/QuranPrinting/ , which demonstrates interesting features, (non-Quran-specific ones), including:
- word spacing and justification;
- characters with different color in one joining run;
- diacritics in different color; and
- parallel translation of (Arabic/Persian) text.
@mostafah is in contact with Maryam Soft, which we can consult on the special requirements in this case.
If those features mentioned above have common wider usage (different colors in one joining run vs. horizontal parallel translation) they can be considered general use-cases.
We can make a list of Quran-related requirements and see which ones we want to cover and how many of them have more general usage. This helps because, as @behnam said, Quran covers a lot of special cases. We can use the list of features in this Maryam Soft webpage as a starting point or even contact them for help to complete the list.
