timingControl

Schema definition timingControl - For content with timed interaction, this value indicates that the user can control the timing to meet their needs (e.g., pause and reset)

Does this apply to audio and or visual content?

For what kinds of resource would this term be used? Would it apply to DAISY or streaming video?

could apply to anything interactive, ie an assessment tool etc. educational use case. media content usually contains this control. double / half speed. add examples to schema definition.

Isn't this supposed to be a direct correlation with SC 2.2.1 Timing Adjustable?

Playback speed control for audio and video isn't in WCAG and I don't think we'd want to define it.

Good point -- rereading 2.2.1 it references "time limits" and not all issues of time control, despite the name. We can improve the Schema term definition to better match the WCAG definition.

Can we add a reference to Understanding SC 2.2.1: Timing Adjustable (Level A) in Column A of the crosswalk?

I could add that if we all feel this is the best approach here.

There are other kinds of timing that can require accommodations in educational contexts, such as extra time for assessments, but I've reviewed our previous education-focused versions of this material and this term is not included. I don't think this is intended to include video timing controls as currently specificfied. If others agree that limiting it to the definition of WCAG 2.2.1 makes the most sense I am happy to support that.
