Schema term annotations

Open chrcarr opened this issue 7 months ago • 2 comments

Schema definition for annotations - The work includes annotations from the author, instructor and/or others.

Based on the definition, annotations do not seem to be an accessibility feature. Could the definition be more precise to make it clear how annotations add to accessibility?

For commercially produced resources, it would also seem that these annotations might be added post-publication by an Authorized Entity (Marrakech). Is this the case. For non-commercially produced resources, these would be added at the point of creation.

Also there is a link back from the deprecated schema term bookmarks: For bookmarks in ebooks, the annotations value can be used. What kinds of bookmarks are these? Are they added post-publication? Are these bookmarks that individual users can add to their own purchased copy of the resource?

Remediation with annotations? Schema this is not meant for annotated edition.

Didn't we have this discussion about annotations already and that on their own they aren't specifically an accessibility feature? I thought we had already deprecated the value, to be honest.
