New Microsoft Teams app support?

Open ivanbuto opened this issue 10 months ago • 1 comments

It seems that after July 1, 2024, it will not be possible to access and work with the classic Microsoft Teams application, which currently works fine on Windows 7 (although system requirements state Windows 8.1): https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/MicrosoftTeams/teams-classic-client-end-of-availability

Any chance that the new Teams app could be supported?

I downloaded and extracted from the .msix file: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/download-app#download-for-desktop

There are some missing functions in kernel32.dll, user32.dll and ole32.dll, plus dependencies on some additional DLL files.

Microsoft has updated the article, which now states: "For users on Windows 7, 8, and 8.1, classic Teams will reach the end of availability starting on October 23, 2024. Users running classic Teams on these operating systems will see warning dialogs about end of availability starting in August." Seems that it will be possible to use the classic Teams client all the way until July 1, 2025.
