Apply Page content filter on category description

When category description contains images or other directives as blocks, they will not display correctly in the frontend. It would be great if the content filter could be applied to the description before indexing. I could solve this with a plugin, but would be a nice to have for the future. Maybe it could even be a global functionality for any attribute that has the type texteditor.
